Privacy information
This page describes how the current OptiConverter application handles files during conversion. The operator of each deployment is responsible for its hosting, logs, and any configured third-party services.
Files processed in your browser
Common image conversions run in your browser. For those conversions, the image is processed locally and is not uploaded to the conversion API by the app.
Files sent to the conversion server
PDF, document, media, archive, and some image conversions upload the selected file to the server configured for the site. The API stores temporary working files and removes them when the conversion response finishes or fails. This is not a promise that hosting-provider backups, operational logs, or infrastructure-level data are immediately erased.
OCR processing
Scanned PDF pages are processed using local OCR by default. A site operator may configure an external OCR endpoint; when configured, scanned PDF content may be sent to that provider to recognize text. Check the operator's deployment information before uploading sensitive documents.
Before uploading sensitive files
Do not upload confidential or regulated material unless you trust the site operator and have reviewed the policies that apply to that deployment. Conversion files are processed to provide the requested output; this application does not require an account.
Questions
Contact the operator of the website where you used the converter for questions about hosting, retention, analytics, or access requests.
